We specialise in Kobudō, an Okinawan martial art focusing on traditional weapons such as the katana, nunchaku, bo, sai, kama, tonfa, tekko, tanbo, and eku. We also specialise in Katsuki Ryu Karate, which translates roughly to "victorious dragon style karate", an innovative and formidable martial arts, drawing its roots from Shotokan, which is renowned for its profound philosophy and precision.

Training includes kihon (basics), kata (forms and patterns), and kumite (sparring), all conducted using approved training equipment within a safe and controlled environment.

Classes are taught in a relaxed and friendly environment. We are always open to answering historical or practical questions. Our school boasts a welcoming community of students and instructors that are passionate about sharing these unique and powerful martial arts.

Our aim is to preserve and respectfully evolve these traditional martial arts, while remaining deeply rooted in their original values and philosophies. This is a different approach from contemporary sport martial arts, which has a greater focus on point-scoring and tournament success.

Whether you're a beginner seeking to learn self-defence skills, build confidence, or you want to understand more about the history and ways of the Samurai, or even if you're experienced practitioner wishing to deepen your knowledge and skills, we offer classes with a positive, inclusive atmosphere for all ages (5+), abilities, and skill levels.

Based on our understanding, we are proud to be the only martial arts school in the UK offering a comprehensive, full-time curriculum dedicated solely to Kobudō. Our syllabus covers the vast majority of traditional Kobudō weapons, without requiring concurrent or prior training in another martial art.

We hope you'll consider joining us on your martial arts journey. Get in touch today to find out more and sign up for a class. We look forward to helping you become the best martial artist you can be!
